Urban malaria in Africa; from understanding epidemiology to control strategies

This project aims to conduct a two year evaluation and development of public health infrastructure in Dar es Salaam, with the specific aim of exploring the potential for implementing a programme of integrated malaria control. We particularly aim to collect baseline data which would constitute a starting point for subsequent interventions and to conduct preliminary trials of appropriate intervention packages in selected wards of Dar es Salaam.
