Reaching
the most poor with HIV voluntary counselling and
testing and treatment of infectios: An incidence
Research in rural Kilombero district, Tanzania.

The project intends to contribute
towards improvement of equity in access to Voluntary
Counselling and Testing (VCT) services and treatment
of opportunistic diseases related to HIV and later
ART in the poorest communities. It is establishing
a platforzm for later Anti Retroviral Therapy
(ART), monitoring and evaluation programme under
a well established Ifakara Centre Demographic
Surveillance System (I-C DSS). To achieve the
anticipated results from the communities served
the VCT information is linked to the household
socio-economic data available through the I -
C DSS.
